The new foundry in Ham in the Somme department is the largest facility of this type in France and was designed for 80 kt of aluminium billets a year from secondary raw material. The investment, worth EUR 50 million, was built on a post-industrial site next to the group’s existing extrusion plant; the foundation stone was laid in 2024, process trials were completed in autumn 2025, production started in November 2025, and reaching nominal capacity was announced for the second quarter of 2026. The feedstock is aluminium scrap – post-production from joinery and post-consumer from dismantling – feeding the production of building profiles, which closes the loop within the ASG group present in Ham, Saint-Florentin and Nantes. The producer declares unit emissions three times lower than the European average for this product.
