A plant in Wales producing wings for the whole Airbus aircraft family – one of the few places in the world able to machine large-format aluminium plate of this class. Wing skins are milled from single plates, which means a very high rate of chip scrap returning to remelting. Airbus does not publish secondary aluminium content in the structure. The United Kingdom's exit from the Union complicated the supply chain of plate, most of which is produced on the continent.
