Register of plants and companies · non-ferrous metals and alloy steels · Europe
Companies
Companies and plants of the European non-ferrous metals and alloy steel industries – from mines and smelters to rolling mills, forges, foundries and scrap remelting. Every plant has a place on the map, a value-chain link, capacity or output with a unit and year, and a primary source with a reliability class; between plants – material flows with quantities.

How the register is built
The register is not a directory of advertising listings – it grows out of metal flow balances, in which every plant has to reconcile with the national total.
- The plant, not just the companythe unit of the register is a plant with a location, value-chain link and unit of measure; a company is the sum of its plants. The “End uses” link covers metal users (e.g. automotive foundries) – it can be switched off with a filter.
- A source behind every numbercapacity, output and status carry a primary source (annual report, register, statistics) with an A/B/C class and the page of the document.
- Plant-to-plant flowswhere sources state it, the register shows where a plant sources its feed and where it ships its product – with quantity and year.
- Balance reconciliation – core onlyplants of the plant layers of the Metal Flows analyses (copper in the EU, aluminium in Poland) are checked against the national and EU balance; the other plants come from market-report registers, ASI certificates and recycling companies’ documents – their capacities are not summed into a balance. A plant found in several sources appears once, with all its sources; each carries the date of its last verification at source.
- For people and agentsevery card has a Markdown and JSON version; the whole register is a JSON file with coordinates, sources and flows.
- Correctionsan error in plant data can be reported to the address in the footer; the correction enters the dataset with a date and a source.
