- Note: Secondary alloy refinery in Carisio in the province of Vercelli, part of the Cordoli group, for half a century one of Europe's suppliers of aluminium alloys for the automotive sector. The furnaces were shut down in summer 2024 and the workforce placed on temporary layoff; in March 2025 the company started a collective redundancy procedure covering 86 direct employees and about thirty subcontractor staff, announcing closure of the plant because of the crisis in the automotive sector. An extraordinary year of temporary layoff was then agreed, extending to March–April 2026, intended for completing the last orders and clean-up and remediation work before final closure. Trade unions accused the company of not investing in the safety of the installations, calling them obsolete, and in November 2025 the municipality of Carisio halted a previously started health survey of residents. Registry note: the domain sacal.it belongs to the manager of Calabrian airports and does not concern this company; the Light Metal Age catalogue attributed 80 kt per year to the plant, but this figure is now moot.
