- Note: The plant processes salt slags and dross arising in rotary furnaces of aluminium refineries, recovering metallic aluminium as granulate and powders and salt and alumina in a closed system. Throughput is not published. RVA was an independent French company in Sainte-Menehould (physically at chemin du Bois d'Épense, on the border with the commune of Les Islettes), and on 10 May 2021 it was taken over by Real Alloy. When in 2022 the KPS fund, through Speira, bought Real Alloy Europe, the European Commission agreed conditionally on 20 October 2022, requiring divestment of the salt slag plant in Sainte-Menehould and the aluminium and dross recycling plant in Swansea. Speira completed the purchase on 31 March 2023, and the required divestment closed on 14 April 2023 – the buyer approved by the Commission was Auréa SA, which took over RVA together with Real Alloy UK (approx. 100 people, approx. EUR 80 million turnover).
