## Plants

### Werk Neu-Ulm (Neu-Ulm, Germany)

- Link: secondary refiner (scrap remelting)
- Status: operating
- Metals: aluminium
- Capacity: 115 kt/yr
- Output 2024: 67.5 kt alloys
- Coordinates: 48.393, 10.01

- Note: The plant was established in 1946 and joined the OETINGER group in 2005; the permitted capacity is 115 kt per year with output of approx. 260 t per day and 56 employees on three shifts. Like Weißenhorn it works on a just-in-time model: up to 16 deliveries of liquid metal a day to die casting foundries within a radius of several hundred kilometres. Equipment includes scrap shears, turnings crushers and thermal and mechanical charge preparation installations, which allows processing of organically contaminated scrap. Together with Weißenhorn it receives 20–35 kt of ingots per year as a supplement to the scrap charge. Salt dross from both plants goes to the group's own installation – AS Oxidwerke in Stockach, acquired in December 2023 as part of vertical integration.

### Werk Weißenhorn (Weißenhorn, Germany)

- Link: secondary aluminium and foundry alloys
- Status: operating
- Metals: aluminium
- Capacity: 120 kt/yr
- Output 2024: 85.7 kt alloys
- Coordinates: 48.305, 10.161

- Note: The group's parent plant, founded in 1946, with a permitted capacity of 120 kt per year and output of approx. 360 t of aluminium per day with 75 employees on a three-shift basis. Approx. 90% of output leaves as liquid metal – up to 23 tankers a day are loaded for die casting foundries (first delivery of liquid metal in 1973, over 3 million t in total). The plant has thermal and mechanical turnings processing installations, a sieving drum and two briquetting presses, which allows low-quality scrap and post-production turnings from customers to be processed in a closed loop (automotive, machine building, electrical engineering, photovoltaics). In addition, 20–35 kt of ingots per year go to Weißenhorn and Neu-Ulm as a charge supplement. The OETINGER group has belonged since January 2018 to the Czech Metal Trade Comax, and its total permitted capacity is approx. 280 kt of casting alloys with 400 employees.
