- Note: Norton Aluminium operated at Norton Green Lane in Norton Canes from 1952 as a producer of high-grade secondary casting alloys for the automotive, aerospace, Formula 1 and motorsport industries, remelting aluminium scrap in rotary furnaces. An administrator was appointed on 18 September 2012, and the plant was then bought out of administration, saving 65 jobs. Finally, on 11 May 2022 the Secretary of State appointed a liquidator of the company, which today appears as NA Realisations Ltd in liquidation, while the group’s second company was struck off on 2 January 2026 as NAL Realisations (Staffordshire) Limited. The new NORTON ALUMINIUM LIMITED registered in 2022 is a metals wholesaler based in Sheffield, engaged in trading, not smelting – it is not a successor to the Norton Canes plant. Capacity has not been disclosed.
