- Note: The plant in Trept in Nord-Isère carries out mechanical processing and sorting of aluminium scrap without a remelting stage: pre-shredding, main shredding and fraction separation. The streams accepted are aluminium cables, profiles, cans, bales, wheels, bodies and radiators and the Zorba fraction from vehicle shredding, that is both post-production and post-consumer scrap. The product is high-purity aluminium granulate – the company publishes an example of recovering aluminium of 99.76% purity from cable waste – directed to refiners and foundries as prepared feedstock. Throughput is not published by the company; the regional press gives an order of magnitude of 50 kt per year, but the figure was not confirmed in a primary source. MTB has been active in aluminium recycling since 1981 and in parallel produces recycling machines at its plant in Saint-Chef.
