- Note: Erbslöh Aluminium in Velbert is a profile extrusion plant with seven hydraulic presses with forces from 12.5 to 44 MN, supplied with billets from two in-house melting plants; the company stressed that high-purity billets come from its own foundry and are selected to customers' requirements. The melting plants' feed is circulating and production scrap from profile extrusion and machining; remelting volume is not disclosed. Products are semi-finished products for automotive suppliers, profiles and stamped sheet. By a decision of the Regional Court in Wuppertal of 1 December 2024 insolvency proceedings were opened over the company's assets; the proceedings of the WKW.group companies were combined under one administrator, and in Germany they covered approx. 1,800 employees. At the end of 2025 talks with investors were still under way. The plant in North Rhine-Westphalia specialises in profiles with tightened tolerances, mainly for the automotive industry. Production includes extrusion, machining and surface treatment, and assembly of subassemblies. The Velbert region is a historic metalworking centre in the hinterland of the automotive industry.
